In “Permanent Inner Peace”, Dr. Hawkins gives us food for thought as he and his wife Susan explore how to actually experience permanent inner peace. Dr. Hawkins opens the discussion by stating that it is acceptance of “what is” from instant to instant, to be happy with the experience of life, as you experience it, is true peace. He later gives examples of how you can be at peace with an emotional state that is not peaceful, even in extreme danger. He also comments on the value of meditation and contemplation and that “thinkingness” is the quickest way to destroy peace of mind. Accept the reality of your level of consciousness, at all times, whatever it might be, as it is accepting not the content of consciousness, but consciousness itself. And remember that just bringing up the question already starts the process.
